Homosexuallity

Today was the day a silence. A day in which high schoolers and college student spent a day silent to mimic the silence of Homosexual youth in our country. I was silent most of today. I live in a strongly religious area. So many times i was asked why i was celebrating a 'sin' and i couldn`t help but think about Nazi Germany. Our President is a christian that brings his rellgion into his politics. It reminds me of how Hitler was convinced that Jews were the cause of all of Germany`s problems. It seems that bush temds to push blame off onto congress the senate and other various people. asfter this it slowly trickles down and the youth are who get blamed and our opinions don`t count.
85% of all high school students report that there sexual identity is 'undecided' meaning not straight. so in a way bush is pushing the blame off to those of us who aren`t straight. It makes me wonder, are we destined to repeat the past?

Yesterday we had a lesbian author come to campus to speak to us. Her presentation surrounded the publishing and censorship of her children's book, "Heather Has Two Mommies" and its counterpart, by another author, "Daddy's Roommate," each presenting a tolerant and accepting view of various families, especially homosexual families. These harmless and thoughtful books were challenged repeatedly and unfairly by conservative Christian groups, labeling them as "rewarding sodomy" and "harmful to young minds".

The author's name was Leslea Newman.
